Oliver (Ollie) Frank Kaylor, 98, of Chetek, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 surrounded by his family at Atrium (formerly Knapp Haven Nursing home).   He was born in Chetek on Sept 4th, 1918 to Frank and Clara Kaylor.

Ollie owned a farm east of Chetek. He hauled milk for Abbotts Dairies in Cameron where he met the love of his life, Anna Drost. They were married June 22nd, 1943 at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron. During his long life he was a dairy farmer, owned a milk route, worked for the Town of Chetek as a road patrolman, drove Chetek School bus, and hauled potatoes for Nuto Farms.  He was a member and usher at St. Boniface Catholic Church, a Town Fire Warden, and a member of the Chetek Lions’s Club. Ollie’s favorite past times were hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. If there was an auction sale to be found within 25 miles of Chetek, he was likely there.  Spending time with family and friends was his greatest passion. His children and grandchildren have fond memories of helping Ollie make and enjoy homemade ice cream.

Ollie is survived by his children; Rosalie (Jim) Koschkee, Rita (Dale) Gillett, James (Liz) Kaylor, Joanne (Bruce) Frericks, and Susan (Todd) Stuessy, twelve grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ollie was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, of 65 years; one brother Raymond, his sisters Lillian, Edna, Ruth and Helen, and grandson Jeffrey Shager, granddaughter Tamara Shager, and son-in-law Robert Shager.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 17th, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek, with visitation at the Church  one hour prior to mass. Father Bala will officiate.  Pallbearers are Ollie’s grandsons; Ben Kaylor, Steve Gillett, Greg Gillett, Adam Frericks, Tommy Frericks and Jeffery Koschkee.   Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a luncheon and continued fellowship back at the church after the burial.

Ollie will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, special neighbor and helper, and a happy and fun-loving friend.  He considered Knapp Haven his home the past five years, where he cherished the many friends and caring staff.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
