Maria Lynn (Houser) Blaser

Maria Lynn Blaser, 49, of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, March 8, 2024.  Maria Houser was born on May 27, 1974, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Nancy (Olson) Houser.

Maria graduated from Rice Lake Highschool, in 1992.  She loved the outdoors; she was an avid gardener and enjoyed home canning.  She found pleasure in spending time caring for her floral garden during the summer.  She looked forward to visiting local greenhouses and nurseries every spring to find the flowers and plants she enjoyed growing.

She loved to cook and spent many happy hours cooking for family and friends.  The local farmers market was a weekly adventure that she visited with family and friends.

Maria did not have children of her own, but she loved her cat family and she cared for many throughout the years.  She also did some traveling and visited several places she wanted to see.  Above all Maria was a kind soul who showed great compassion.  She would help anyone at any time with anything they needed whether they were family or friends.  She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to celebrate her memory; her life-partner, Doug “Fred” Everson, Chetek, siblings, Tom (Brenda) Houser, Rice Lake, WI; Jeff Houser, Onamia, MN; Mike (Deb) Houser, Rice Lake, WI; Karen (Quinlan) Thomas, Chetek, WI; Kathy Duerkop, Rice Lake, WI; and Kaye Franta, Tucson, AZ, aunt, Delores “Dede” Kraimer, Rice Lake, WI; and many nieces, nephews and, cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Houser and Nancy Houser Paradise, stepfather, Laverne Paradise, paternal grandparents, James and Eleanor Houser and, maternal grandparents, Leonard and Helen Olson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Maria will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery, Chetek, Wisconsin with her loving family as casket bearers. The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
