John Stefczak Obituary

John Albert Stefczak, 87, of Spring Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 20, 2024.

He was born to John and Sophie Stefczak on September 25, 1936, in Chetek, Wisconsin.

John was known for his loving, humorous, helpful, and caring nature. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Diana Stefczak, his son Gary Stefczak (Kimberly), his daughter Shari Woelfle (Hans), his brothers Robert Stefczak and Richard Stefczak, as well as his grandsons Chad Woelfle, Jonathan Woelfle (Rachel), Daniel Stefczak (Rachel), Timothy Stefczak (Kat), and his great-grandchildren Bennett, Mila, Natalie, and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his father, John Stefczak Sr., and his mother, Sophie Stefczak.

John attended Chetek High School before joining the National Guard, where he served with dedication and honor.

John worked his way up from Machinist and inspector to Supervisor, Foreman, Manager, and finally, Manufacturing Engineer at the Onan Corporation, showcasing his strong work ethic, leadership, and common-sense ingenuity.

John lived for hunting, fishing, and telling stories, which he lovingly passed on to his family and his many friends. The accomplishment he was proudest of was shooting 71 deer in his 67 hunting seasons. After he retired at 59 he fished 230+ days a year, bragging that he fished more than professional angler Al Lindner. John had a special place in his heart for his grandsons whom he cherished and dedicated so much time and love to.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his spirit will live on in the hearts of the lives he touched.
