Ryan L. Jacobs

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Ryan Lessel Jacobs lost his battle with his lifelong mental health struggles on October 19, 2023 at the age of 20.  

Ryan was born in Torrance, California and moved to Bozeman, Montana at the age of six. Ryan then lived at the family’s lake house in Chetek, Wisconsin for the past two years.  By living at the lake, Ryan was able to engage in some of his favorite activities of jet skiing, water skiing, and wake surfing - and be close to his grandparents.

When one greeted Ryan, they were met with an infectious smile that could light up a room and the best hug you could imagine. Anyone who engaged with him was touched by his intellect and heart. While he may have not fulfilled a traditional model of success he maximized his own potential.  

Ryan is survived by his parents Bruce and Kristi Jacobs, his sister Taylor Jacobs, and his grandparents Nancy and Steve Lind and Brenda and Ron Katz. He has numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. 

The Funeral for Ryan will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Mill in Chetek. 

Ryan will be buried in Chetek, Wisconsin, a place near and dear to all of us.  Casketbearers will be Howard Jacobs, Ron Jacobs, Jeff Lind, Mike Prince, Pete Prince and Jake Werner.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate memorials to the Chetek Scholarship Foundation in Ryan's name.
