Ronald Lee Ostrowski

Ronald Lee Ostrowski, age 87, passed away on May 31, 2023.

Ron was born to Leo and Mary (Janczak) Ostrowski in Kankakee, IL on September 21, 1935.  Ron married Margaret Rose Lahners on November 5, 1955, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and he was instrumental in starting a midget football league where he resided in Illinois prior to moving to the Chetek area.  Most of all, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and was always up for a euchre game with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, Leo and Mary Ostrowski; stepmother, Josephine Ostrowski; brother, Bob (Marla) Ostrowski; sister, Marilyn (Hank) Thompkins, and one infant brother Francis Ostrowski.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Jim) Filipek, Kathy (Mike) Krizan, and Debbie Lafine; his grandchildren, Dawn (John) Nagel, Heather Hamilton, Chris (Betsy) Benoit, Brent (Katie) Blanchette, Amber Blanchette, and Brad (Dana) Filipek; his great-grandchildren, Ava and Adam Nagel, Will, Katie, Charlie, Jacob, Margaret and Louis Benoit, Caylee Cobo, Chase, Clara, and Madeline Blanchette, Cole, Luke, and Beckett Hamilton, and Mason, Avery, and Faith Filipek; his sister, Sandy (Dave) Persson and sister-in-law, Marla Ostrowski.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek, WI, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Interment will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery following the service. 

The Burnham-Ours Kolstad Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
