Joanne Doane Obituary

Joanne M. Doane, 82, of Chetek, WI passed away suddenly on April 26, 2019 at her home.  She was born on November 21, 1936 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin to Walter and Alma (Dahlke) Effinger.

Joanne graduated from Madison East High School in 1955.  She was married to Bruce Doane on September 18, 1965 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison.

Joanne worked at the DNR Conservation Office in Madison.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma.

She was an avid reader; her favorite author was James Patterson.  She enjoyed watching Wisconsin sport teams, playing cards with family and attending to her many plants and flowers.

She leaves to celebrate her memory, husband, Bruce Doane, Chetek, son, Todd (Mary) Doane, Rice Lake, daughter, Kimberly (Nathan) Rich, Barron, grandchildren, Amber Oconnell, Andrew Doane, Nicole Doane, and Dawson Rich and great grandchild Carter Kirby.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alma Effinger and her only sister, Dorothy Effinger.

She will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.  She will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
