Joan Phyllis U'Ren, aged 91, passed away on September 2, 2022, at the Meadowbrook nursing home in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Joan was born to Clara and Enoch Arneson in Chetek, Wisconsin on February 7, 1931.
Joan loved to quilt and was a master at her craft, winning many awards for it. She was a charter member of the Stitching Sister Quilting Guild since 2004. Honorary member in 2022. She enjoyed traveling and golfing. Joan liked to keep her garden looking nice as well as watching and listening to the birds. She had a big heart, performing many random acts of kindness and helping others out anonymously. Joan loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Enoch, husband, Blake U'Ren, daughter, Julie K. Kennedy, granddaughter, Heather Hill, great-great-granddaughter, Blakeley Hansen, and brothers, Robert and Bruce Arneson.
Joan leaves to celebrate her memory, children, Jim (Brenda) U'Ren and Jack (Peggy) U'Ren, son-in-law, Mike Kennedy, grandchildren, Chad Hansen, Jodi Hill, Kelly Ann McHugh, Jeffrey U'Ren, Adam Kennedy, Lauren U'Ren, Kelsey Kennedy, and Jake U'Ren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and sisters, Aggie Van Alstyne and Carol Reed, as well as many other loving family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 9, at 2:00 PM at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to the Chetek VFW or American Legion.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
