Dale Ferry Obituary

Dale Edward Ferry, 80, of Chetek passed away on Saturday, December 05, 2020 at the Meadowbrook of Chetek.  Dale was born on May 28, 1940 in Colfax, Wisconsin the son of Guy and Myrtle (Breeze) Ferry.

Dale Ferry maybe lived a tough and a little rough life but he wouldn't let anything get him down. Despite suffering various childhood illnesses with which the doctors said he would never live to 25 and then the back surgeries and heart surgeries as he aged, he was a fighter and would never give up. Family and friends often referred to him as "A tough old bird" or "The strongest man I know". He was a proud but beautifully simple man. Never taking anything for granted. He has 3 beautiful girls with his first wife Patricia Ann Ferry (Raymond) who suddenly passed away leaving him to raise these 3 girls alone. He then met Mary Ann (Dreysee/Hanson) and with her 3 boys, they made a life together and married on July 14, 1984. Trying to find a home that would accommodate them all was a challenge but they found a fantastic home and made friends with their amazing neighbors. Being known as the reversed Brady Bunch, Dale and Mary Ann accepted these children as their own. Raising them as of the same blood. LOVE WAS THE KEY! Dale lived life to the fullest. Never forgetting to give thanks for everything life gives and thanking GOD for his every blessing. Great or small. He loved so many things, as he loved life. Fishing, camping, listening to country music (Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley), playing guitar, banjo, harmonica, playing cards and dice with family and friends and looking out the kitchen window to watch the birds and even occasionally hollering at the squirrels to get out of his feeder. Oh how he disliked those squirrels! These were some of his favorites. He had a smile and a laugh that could light up a room. He did get a bit feisty at times, putting his fists up and asking if you wanted to fight but all with a smile on his face and a mischiefness in his eyes. He was a great man, a strong man, a sincere and loving man. Giving and living life with his whole heart and soul. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Patricia Ferry, brothers, Ray, Earl and Bill Ferry and his sisters, Marjorie Bauer, Nellie Guzzo and Cinderella Rehr.

He leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Mary Ann Ferry, Chetek, WI; children: Brian (Brandi) Hanson, Dallas, WI; Anna (Bill) Raimer, Portage, WI; Dean (Kim) Hanson, Chetek, WI; Kevin (Deb) Hanson, Bloomer, WI; Cindy (Don) Schachel, Chetek, WI and Lori (Zouhair) Zouiten, Port Charlotte, FL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
