Alice M. Sannes, 91, of Chetek, went home to eternal life in heaven on Tuesday, May 15, 2023. She was born on May 25, 1931, to John and Mary Quick of Canton, Wisconsin.
Alice grew up on a farm east of Canton and attended Canton Grade School and graduated from Cameron High School on May 25, 1950. In the fall of 1950, Alice married her high school friend, James Kuhrt, who passed away from cancer on July 17, 1951. Alice then went to U.W. Eau Claire, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education and working towards her Master’s degree in teaching. During this time she met and married Kenneth Sannes on December 5, 1953. Alice taught elementary school in Cameron for 33 years and retired in 1989.
Kenneth and Alice spent many special years traveling in their motor home and enjoying the warm climate in Texas during the winters. Kenneth passed away on September 14, 2007. Alice never had children but children were always a special part of her life. She will be missed by so many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Quick, 2 husbands, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Boydean (Astrid) Sannes, and many nieces and nephews.
