Adeline passed on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 after a long battle with dementia and heart failure.  She was born May 16, 1930 in Cicero, IL to Margaret and Michael Waszak.  Adeline married Donald E. Lay, January of 1948, and they lived in the Chicago area with their two children Donald and Carol for a few years until they decided to move to Clarendon Hills, IL.  There they had two more children, Tina and David.  She worked with her husband at Hinsdale South High School until his sudden passing in 1975.  Later, she met and married Robert E. Richards.  After her marriage to Robert they decided to move to Chetek where they spent many happy years spoiling their grandkids.  She loved to play bingo at the local community centers and go to the casino whenever she could.

Adeline is survived by her two brothers, Larry (Maryann) Waszak and Bob (Marion) Waszak; her children, Carol (Larry) Ort, Tina (Matt) Christensen, David (Kari) Lay, her grandchildren: John, Jason, Emily, Sarah, Kelly, Gretchen, Kristen, Theresa, Ginny, Tanya and Michael. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Michael, first husband, Donald, second husband Roberts, son, Donald M. Lay, sisters, Lorraine, Dorothy and Eleanor, brother, Ray, granddaughter, Abby and great grandchildren Liam and Elizabeth.

A Private Family Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
