Paul Alan
Hutzler
Apr 26, 1952 — Sep 28, 2026
Paul Hutzler, 74, of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026.
Born on April 26, 1952, to Ralph and Marion Hutzler, Paul was a lifelong resident of Chetek and a proud member of the community he called home. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, skilled craftsmanship, quiet generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy from February 10th, 1972, to February 9th, 1974, where he was stationed in Hawaii as a Radio Man. Paul then returned home to build a life centered on family, hard work, and service to others.
On June 3rd, 1972, he married the love of his life, Carmell Quine (Keller) Hutzler. Together they shared more than 54 years of marriage, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Paul's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was thankful to have his children and grandchildren nearby and treasured the time spent together. Whether it was a family gathering, a holiday celebration, or simply a visit from his grandchildren, those moments meant the world to him.
For more than 25 years, Paul worked as a custodian for the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser School District, where he earned the respect and friendship of coworkers, students, and faculty alike. The relationships he built throughout those years remained important to him long into retirement.
A talented builder and craftsman, Paul constructed numerous homes throughout the Chetek area, including several of his own. He was rarely still for long and could almost always be found working on a project, helping a friend, fixing something that needed attention, or planning what came next. His handiwork can be seen throughout the community, but his greatest accomplishments were the lives he touched and the family he helped build.
When he wasn't working, Paul found joy in fishing. He especially looked forward to the trips to Canada that became a cherished tradition over the years. Those trips created lasting memories filled with laughter, stories, friendship, and time spent enjoying the outdoors with the people he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmell Quine Hutzler; his sons, David (Kim) Hutzler and Justin (Sarah) Hutzler; Theresa; his grandchildren, Nolan, Ella, Hanah, Haylee, Hollie, Olivia, Miriam, Collin, and Evageline; his siblings, Lynn, Jeff, Susan, and Julie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marion Hutzler, and his brothers, Larry and David Hutzler.
Paul will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend. He believed in showing up, working hard, keeping his word, and caring for the people around him. His humble nature, dependable character, and willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
