Margaret Ann (Mack) Hardt

Margaret A. Hardt (Maggie) age 67 died on September 24 ^th , 2021, at St. John’s hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota.  She was born on June 3, 1954, to Shirley and Martin Mack in Manhattan, New York and was a middle child to 8 loving siblings.  As a child Margaret loved to listen to music and sing.  Margaret met her late husband Arnie Hardt in the 70’s and had 3 amazing children, Melissa Cross, Jessica Hardt and Cory Hardt.  She later in life met the love of her life David Hegna in 1989.  They were lifelong partners who resided together in Chetek, WI.  They built a beautiful home and family together.  Margaret was well known as Maggie and she worked many places within Barron County, Here’s Johnny, Crossroads, Captain’s Table, Nancy’s Northside, and Norms.  She made so many friends and was well known within her community.  Maggie had many grandchildren who were her life.

Margaret leaves to celebrate her memory: life-partner, David Hegna, Chetek, daughters, Melissa (Christopher) Cross, La Crosse, WI and Jessica L. Hardt, LaCrosse, WI; grandchildren: Cheyenne Genrich, La Crosse; Bailey (Cody) Devenport, Stoddard, Kyle (Brenda) Cross, La Crosse; Carter (Emily) Cross, Stoddard and Tyler Lawrence, Stoddard and many other step-children, great-grandchildren, Kora, Haili-Ann, Payton, Cole, Silas, Skylar, Ryker and Stormi, siblings, Marlene, Elaine, Milton, Lois and Cheryl and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Shirley Mack, siblings, Norman and William, her son, Cory Hardt and other family members.

The visitation for Margaret will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 12 Noon – 1:00 P.M with a Prayer Service at 1:00 P.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek.
