Leslie M. Venette, 68, of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home in Chetek. Leslie was born on December 31, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Alfred and Agnes Venette.
She attended St. James Elementary School, Machebeuf Highschool, Adams State College, all in Colorado. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Phycology from the University of Phoenix in 2013. She was certified to perform marriages in Wisconsin and performed a few marriage ceremonies.
Leslie moved from Denver to Chetek in 2001. She loved music, but only the songs she knew the words to. She enjoyed Tequila Thursday at the Lakeside Cantina, Chetek, cribbage, making rosaries, eternal angels and spiritual baby Jesus’ and was an avid Denver Bronco fan, never wavering to the green and gold.
She leaves to celebrate her memory: her wife, Vicki Newingham, nephew, Bill, siblings, Paula, Suellen, Greg, Aimee, John and Lisa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Agnes, and siblings, Fred and Erica.
One More Tequila Thursday will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Lakeside Cantina in Chetek to Celebrate the life of Leslie.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
