Sand Creek

Delores Marie Vlcek, 82, passed away at home on the farm near Sand Creek, Wisconsin on June 14, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Delores was born June 1, 1944 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin ~ the fourth child of Floyd and Elsie Stratton. Delores attended Memorial High School in Eau Claire, graduating in 1962. Shortly there after Delores married George Vlcek, October 20, 1962. They purchased their farm in 1966 near Sand Creek, Wisconsin where they built their life and still reside today.

Delores had a strong faith in the foundation of her life. The church community was very important to her. As a family, they were deeply involved at the Eden Church near Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin from 1975 to 1995.

From January 1981 to August 1984 the family relocated to Zoin Harbor, Minnesota, a family Bible camp on Leech Lake. There Delores beautifully managed the kitchen. Together they ministered to the countless individuals and families who had come through the camp. Since 1995 Delores and George have been devoted faithful members of Towering Pines Church, which now meets in Cameron, Wisconsin.

Delores will be deeply missed for her wonderful cooking and baking. Everything always tasted better at Mom/Grandma's house! Beyond her talents in the kitchen, it was her warmth ~ the comforting hugs, the peaceful walks together, and the regular telephone calls that will leave a profound void in the lives of those who loved her.

Delores is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, George Vlcek; six children and their spouses: Kim and David Caldwell, Harold and Diane Vlcek, Brian and Deb Vlcek, Bill and Karen Vlcek, Amy and John Langer, Nathan and Amy Vlcek; 18 grandchildren: Katherine, Anthony, Jack, Rachel, Scott, Moriah, Briahna, Isaiah, Elijah, Noah, Whitney and Hunter; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Edythe Olson, Pat (Norm) Colburn, Deb Epp, Paul Stratton, Gordon (Joyce) Stratton; sister-in-law: Ruby Stratton.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents ~ Floyd and Elsie Stratton; sister ~ Eleanor (Bill) Johnson; brother ~ Gerald Stratton and other dearly loved family members and friends.
