David Joseph Wethern, 77, of Cameron, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Saturday, 2,2026. David was born in Saint Paul, MN in 1948 on November 4. Grew up in Saint Paul graduated from mechanic arts high school.
He started an apprenticeship to be a printer when he was 17. In the late 70s he opened his own print shop, Ames Printing named after his oldest daughter. He married Sue Francis (1952 - 2017) in 1969. They had a daughter named Amy Marie in 1971 and another daughter Charlene “Charly” Ann in 1977. Amy had Trisomy 18 and miraculously lived for three and a half years. She passed away December 27, 1974.
Dave worked hard to provide for his family and was a great father, always finding time to play with his daughter. He and Sue divorced in 2000. At that point, he moved up to Chetek, Wisconsin. He continued his printing business until the early 2000s at that point he became a full-time handyman. He worked at both Floods Island resort and Linda’s Lakeshore bar. He loved his 40 acres in Chetek.
He loved playing pool with his buddies hanging out with his girlfriend Lynda, campfires, mowing the lawn, riding his tractor, and time with his daughter, son-in-law, and their six children. He was always smiling and joking, doing goofy stuff like hanging snacks from trees or giving the kids their Christmas presents wrapped in TV dinner packages. In 2017 his health started to decline and eventually he passed away from his illness. He lived out his last days, just where he wanted to, in his home with his dog Max.
