Charles Allen Dutter, age 85, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Charles was born on April 15, 1940, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to James and Ada Dutter. A simple man at heart, Charles found his greatest joys in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting and especially cherished time spent out on the water, where he felt most at peace.
Charles was also a world-class woodcarver, a talent that brought him both pride and recognition. His intricate carvings of fish and birds earned him second place in a worldwide carving contest.
Above all else, Charles enjoyed life and treasured time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, love of the outdoors, and the beautiful art he created.
Charles leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ada Dutter, and daughter, Carolyn Wolke.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Dutter, children, Linda (Peter) Dutter-Tio and Toby (Cheryl) Dutter, stepchildren, Keith (Sherry) Anderson and Britt Anderson, and grandchildren, Autumn Tio and Cale (Amy) Dutter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM up until the time of service.
