Welcome to the memorial page for

Owen Knutson

February 15, 2000 ~ May 24, 2017 (age 17) 17 Years Old

Owen Knutson, 17 of Chetek passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  Owen was born on February 15, 2000 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the son of Thomas (Tim) and Dawn Knutson.

Owen entered this world with a medical condition that hospitalized him for 6 weeks at birth.  He received tremendous help, prayers and support from every corner of the globe. He returned the favor 10 thousand times over in his short, 17 years.  Owen was always a willing and helpful friend, son, grandson, brother and nephew.  In his short life he traveled to Alaska and Cuba, to the east and west coasts, and Florida, Canadian Fishing trips with family and the annual Oshkosh Airventure Airshow.  He enjoyed helping his family, hunting and fishing, and sharing his love of flying by giving airplane rides

Owen was the textbook definition of a team player.  He played Football, Basketball, and Baseball for the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser teams.  Owen became an avid weight lifter, pressing up dumbbells at least three mornings per week.  Thursdays were reserved for his “Go Deep” young athletes prayer group and breakfast.

He was always a glass half full young man.  If the fish hadn’t been biting in the first four hours, then they certainly would be biting in the next four hours.  The deer horns mounted to the walls of the Knutson home are a reflection of Owen’s perseverance for hunting.

And last but certainly not least, Owen became a member of the National Honor Society.  He was looking forward to a week at Badger Boys State along with a summer of American Legion Baseball.

Owen will be missed by many, forgotten by few.
