Richard Arthur DuBois

Richard Arthur DuBois, 75 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System Northland Hospital in Barron with his family at his side.   Richard was born on October 25, 1941 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to John and Agnes DuBois.

Richard attended schools in Chetek and after his education he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces where he served his country from 1958 – 1966.  He married Audrey Ekstrom while serving his country and they were blessed with three children.

After his honorable discharge for the military he worked as a Draftsman for Wright Products, he then owned and operated the Anchor Inn, Chetek.  He married Judy Lynn Francois Johnson on July 2, 1982 and would have celebrated 35 years of marriage in July. Their daughter Jessica DuBois was born on December 31, 1983 and together they raised their blended family.  Richard worked for Jerome Foods in Barron for 27 years, retiring in 2007.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, his children and grandchildren, holiday gatherings, trips to Florida and Texas and sitting in his yard enjoying the views of Lake Chetek.

Richard leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Judy Lynn DuBois, Chetek, WI; daughter, Heather Nicole DuBois (Jason Faunce), Clayton, WI; step-son, Douglas Lynn Johnson, Chetek, WI; son, Christopher Barrett DuBois, Chetek, WI and daughter, Jessica Lorraine DuBois, Aimes, IA, grandchildren, Nastaja DuBois, Mikayla DuBois, Lilly Leith and Gage DuBois, step-grandchildren, Kari and Dinin Nelson, brothers, Allen (Carla) and Ted (Kiyo) and his sister, Annie Nelson, sisters-in-law, Pat, Mae, Carole and Sandy, many loved nieces and nephews and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes DuBois, a daughter in infancy, Kelly Ann DuBois, siblings, LeRoy, Robert, Johnny, Bernard, Adrian, Brian and Dennis DuBois and several nephews and a niece.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek with Jeff Martin officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
