Martha Marie Feiertag

Martha Marie Feiertag, 94 of Chetek passed away Friday afternoon, March 3, 2017 at Dallas Care & Rehab.  Born September 22, 1922 in Almena, Wisconsin she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Anna (Bentz) Osterman.

Martha was raised and educated in Wisconsin.  She taught school for a short time and later married Richard (Rich) Feiertag January 1946.  Martha (Marty) was a member of the Gregarson HCE Club (Homemakers) for 40 plus years.  Marty and Rich were the former owners of Summer Haven Resort.  Martha enjoyed living by the lake, she always spoke of the beautiful sunsets over the lake.  She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, crocheting and ceramics.  She was a great cook and enjoyed baking and canning.  She spent many hours working on word and number puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

Martha is survived by her son, Richard Feiertag of Maplewood, MN; five daughters, Faith (Charles) Johnson of Osceola, WI, Sandy (Robert) Solland of Osceola, WI, Sharon (Bruce) Bolles of Lake Elmo, MN, Debbie (Timothy) Berning of Chetek, WI, Tammy (Mark) Lenbom of Chetek, WI, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, Harold (Diane Osterman) of Minnesota as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, three brothers, William, Walter and Albert and two sisters, Eleanor and Elsie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating.  Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service for a visitation.  Martha will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
