David Harold Winans died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was a man of strong faith and was ready to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Jo Winans Schmidt, mother Alice Jorgens, father, Harold Winans, Sisters, Rosie Moen, Norma Donovan and Lynda Hurley.  He is survived by his wife, Judy, daughter, KimMarie Winans, son-in-law Mark Schmidt, sisters, Phyllis Rachor, Gale (Robert) Grumbo, brother Terry Jorgens, brother-in-law Mike Hurley, sister-in-law Linda (Roger) Thorsvik and many nieces and nephews.  Dave was passionate about the Lord and helping alcoholics and addicts in recovery.  He was formerly employed by Super Valu, Inc. in Hopkins, MN and was a member of the MN Assn. of Truck Rodeo Champions.  Dave was a devoted husband and father, he loved, fishing, bowling and watching the wildlife in his backyard.  We would like to thank the Mayo Health System and Hospice and their loving staff for the excellent care they gave him, as well as the Moen family and his many friends of Bill W. for their love and support.  David was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He served his country from October 1960 – October 1963.

A Memorial service for David will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chetek United Methodist Church, Chetek, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be on Friday, July 7, at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and again at the church one hour prior to the service.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
